Dr. Quincy Young is a registered psychologist who provides psychological services for the Heart Centre at St. Paul's Hospital. Dr. Young earned her doctorate in 1998 and has been working with the St. Paul’s Heart Failure, Heart Transplant and VAD programs since that time. She provides psychotherapy and assessment services for these patients including routinely conducting psychosocial assessments for heart transplant candidacy. She has been involved with program development for the heart transplant team, with a focus on the improvement of transplant decision making processes. In addition, Dr. Young is engaged in a variety of research projects. Recently her research endeavors have been focusing on the screening and treatment of psychological distress in cardiac patients.
