Jignesh Patel, MD, PhD, FACC, FRCP is Clinical Professor and Medical Director of the heart transplant program at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. He earned his bachelor’s and medical degrees at the University of Cambridge and a doctorate in vascular biology and physiology at UCLA where he also completed his general cardiology fellowship. He subsequently served as Associate Medical Director of the heart transplant program at UCLA Medical Center before assuming his current position at Cedars-Sinai in 2000. He serves as Chair of the Transplant Committee at the Comprehensive Transplant Center at Cedars-Sinai and Director for Research in heart transplantation. His research focuses on management of sensitized patients awaiting heart transplantation and antibody-mediated rejection. His participation in the International Consortium for Cardiac Amyloidosis Transplantation has increased his involvement in therapeutic trials for cardiac amyloidosis.
